Although UNICAT offers a choice of materials, fabrics and colors, there too, we provide a wealth of experience about durability, looks and performance. Perfect material selection and workmanship are a good place to start but for Expedition Vehicles, it’s not sufficient.
Furniture and fittings are exposed to different and much greater stresses and loads than conventional furniture. A vehicle may be in Alaska at - 40°C and another time it's Namibia at + 50°C. One time the relative humidity is 90%, another time it's only 20% - and as you move between these extremes, the furniture is subject to permanent tremors.To enable it to withstand these loads, UNICAT furniture is not simply built but is CAD-designed. Based on standard calculation methods the number and type of furniture connections, the number and position of the hinges, drawers and closures are defined.
Even the butts of panels and boards are designed so that the load-bearing parts can be perfectly connected to the body. After all, the furniture, which is joined with the body to form a single solidly connected unit, should be just as long-lived as the body.
