Avi Meyers of Palo Alto, CA has teamed up with UNICAT [www.unicatamericas.com], of Dettenheim, Germany to bring the ultimate expedition vehicles to the US, Canada, Central and South America. These extraordinary vehicles merge the best of two worlds—US street-legal 4X4 trucks with the premier expedition body and chassis builder in the world.

Due to serviceability, DOT, and EPA constraints, UNICAT vehicles were only the stuff of dreams—until now. The first vehicles, based on an International 7400 4X4 and a Unimog U500, were completed in Germany in July of 2006 and then underwent extensive trials and photo shoots in the Sahara Desert.

We are very excited about developing our next prototype which will be based on the new International MXT. This chassis is available as a crew-cab only with a cab air suspension system and driver/passenger air suspension seats. The body will be an over-head configuration (queen-size bed over the cab) with an overall vehicle length of approximately 24’. As comfortable and easy to drive as a pickup truck, this vehicle will have the same size wheels, tires and ground clearance as the larger trucks.
